We built our first website for Widespread Panic back in 2006. At the time, the band was touring incessantly and their website required manual updates. They wanted a fresh new look, updated technology, and an easier way for their staff to post timely updates on the unwieldy amount of content they were producing daily. We achieved this for them by designing and building a site that was integrated with our custom content management system Newswire. They were ecstatic when we launched the site and they realized how easy it was for them to manage all aspects of the website themselves.
Fast forward five years and they were ready for another website update. Technology changes dramatically over a five year period and a technological overhaul was in order, along with consolidation of content and a fresh new look. The result is the current website. It uses a newer improved version of our Newswire content management system and offers them a much easier means of managing media associated with the site. The only problem is the fact that the website is not responsive.
We try only to showcase our latest and greatest work, but it is Widespread Panic’s official website and we are so excited about the design and color palette we used on this one that we had to include it.
We are currently in discussions with Widespread Panic about porting this website to WordPress and making it responsive and more accessible to their hundreds of thousands of fans around the world. Stay tuned.
