This summer we had the pleasure of meeting the founders of Project Love, Elizabeth Mathes and Amy Crouse. They started a business in Atlanta, GA with a very altruistic purpose.
Project Love is a sleepwear line developed to help create better futures for women, it was designed to bring beauty to life and connect communities of women around the globe. The line, which is designed by Michael Faircloth of Dallas, TX, consists of beautifully crafted, feminine pieces. Recognizing that women share the desire to know they are beautiful, loved and have value, the line unites them under the idea that while they may have differences, they have more similarities, and women are better when they’re connected together. Project Love builds bridges between communities of women by donating a percentage of sales in the United States to meet a need of a woman far away. The debut collection benefits a group of women in Haiti who have received very little schooling. By providing education, counseling and skills training, the hope is that a door to a better future will be opened for them.
Project Love approached us with a need for an e-commerce website that would not only allow them to securely sell the sleepwear line to consumers online, but also to tell the stories of the girls that a percentage of the proceeds of the purchases were going to benefit. It is a profound way to connect people across the globe through e-commerce because when you buy, you know the story of the girl who the purchase will help.
With a limited budget, we set them up on WordPress with the WooCommerce e-commerce plugin and their own custom payment gateway to allow them to keep a slightly larger percentage of each sale as Project Love grows and thrives.
