The Cornerstone Floor Group is owned by a great friend of mine who happens to be quite a visionary when it comes to reclaimed wood and design. He grew up in the flooring business and eventually split off to focus on this very specialized field. There is a lot of work that goes into nor not only sourcing the wood that they sell. Some of it comes from old barns warehouses, train depots, or homes across the country. Some comes from the bottom of rivers, or out of historic old buildings that are being demolished.
No matter where it comes from, you can be sure it is going to make a one-of-a-kind floor, table, wall-board, countertop, or whatever else you may want to use it for. The wood that The Cornerstone Floor Group sources is hundreds of years old. They have a mill and they saw the wood down into pieces that can be used for tongue in groove flooring or anything else you can think of. When the wood is prepared for sawing it is after things like nails have been removed, or after bugs have eaten small holes in the wood. Milling it reveals these beautiful imperfections that you would otherwise never see, but it is these imperfections that make The Cornerstone Floor Group’s products one-of-a-kind.
We built their old website and, as happens with every website, it just becomes outdated. They wanted a new website that was easy to manage, would allow them to write a blog about the cool projects they are always working on, was search engine friendly, and was optimized for social media. They had a limited budget, so we decided to use Squarespace, which is a perfect solution for a project like this.
They work with some very high-end clients but their products are not inaccessible to the general public. I urge you to browse their website and see some of the amazing varieties of wood they offer.
