Beardcat’s Sweet Shop is a dessert shop that offers 20 different varieties of housemade gelato and sorbet, sandwiches, breakfast, and excellent coffee. Brought to you by the team that opened The Obstinate Daughter, it is located downstairs from The Obstinate Daughter in a beautifully renovated building in Sullivan’s Island, SC. Beardcat’s Sweet Shop is the only gelateria on Sullivan’s Island and you should definitely stop in for a sweet treat after dinner at The Obstinate Daughter.
Both of these restaurants were built at the same time. We were approached to custom design and build the websites for both of them. However, the client didn’t want to break the bank on the two custom websites. We came up with a solution that would still allow them to have custom designed websites for both restaurants, while staying within their budget by saving them some on development cost by building both websites in WordPress on the same framework, just with different custom skins. You will notice similarities in functionality between the two sites. This plan worked like a charm and both websites maintain their own restaurant-specific look.
Like The Obstinate Daughter site, the design is enhanced by the beautiful photographs of Andrew Cebulka and spot-on branding by Gil Shuler. Thanks to WordPress, the site has intuitive, built-in content management controls that allow the staff to easily keep it updated. It is responsive, lightweight, and optimized for all browsing devices, which leads to more business because tourists visiting Sullivan’s Island can easily navigate it on their mobile phones. We always do our best to ensure our client gets the most mileage out of every dollar they spend. We finished this experience with a very happy client and would love to do the same for you.
